Adult Social Care Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Plan 2024-2027

Norfolk County Council's Adult Social Care Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Plan 2024-2027 aims to ensure that all its services, including those it commissions, are accessible, inclusive, and equitable. The strategy emphasises key objectives:

  1. Promoting race equality: the council is committed to eliminating racism across its adult social care workforce, services, and communities
  2. Accessibility for disabled people: ensuring that services, information, and environments are designed to be easily accessed, understood, and used by all disabled individuals
  3. LGBTQ+ equality: promoting equality for LGBTQ+ service users and colleagues to foster a more inclusive environment
  4. Implementation of EDI plans: in response to external reviews (eg Care Quality Commission), the council is focused on transforming services to meet EDI objectives, incorporating feedback from various communities

The council prioritises actions based on legal responsibilities, external reviews, data on service usage, and feedback from different groups. Our goal is to improve the experience of all service users, especially those from marginalised groups.
