Due to the large volume of ceremonies that were postponed and rescheduled because of the pandemic our availability for new ceremony bookings to take place in 2021 has been affected, particularly for ceremonies in our offices.
As in previous years, our priority during the winter months must be death registrations. This means there is less availability in our offices to conduct notice appointments for new ceremony bookings where the ceremony is intended to take place between now and spring. This is unless there is a reason why you need a ceremony urgently, such as where one of the couple is seriously ill and not expected to recover, or where one of the couple needs to be in a legal partnership for other reasons, such as military deployment.
Our team are working through new booking enquiries, along with a significant number of reschedule requests.

As a reminder, you must give notice at least 28 days before the ceremony.
Small ceremonies in working offices (early bird ceremonies)
If you are enquiring about booking a small ceremony in a working office with just yourselves and two witnesses, the earliest date these are available from is January 2022. These small ceremonies are only held in Great Yarmouth, King's Lynn and Norwich. If you submit a form with a date before January 2022, we will ask you to resubmit.
Norwich Castle and other ceremony rooms
If you are enquiring about booking a ceremony in Norwich Castle (The Colman Gallery) or one of our other ceremony rooms such as The Vancouver Suite in our King's Lynn Registration Office the earliest date these are available from is October 2021. If you submit a form with a date before October 2021, we will ask you to resubmit.
Approved venue bookings
The online booking system allows you to book a ceremony date from 1 May 2021 until the end of 2023.
The system shows all available dates and times for ceremonies. If the time you are looking to book is not showing it’s because there is no availability. You will need to choose another available time or date. If you can't find the date you need please send us an enquiry form and we will try our best to help.
Once you have selected your venue, date and time please go ahead and confirm your booking.
If you click the back button at any point, your ceremony may show as unavailable when you go to select it again. If this happens please wait for a little while, go back into the system and try again.
This booking is just for the registrars to attend your ceremony, it is not a booking for the venue as well. You must speak to your chosen venue first to discus their availability and fees, then make sure a registrar will be available before you confirm the booking with your venue.
