- The other where you continue as you are resulting in potential weight gain

Imagine you've successfully reached a weight that feels right for you. Think about yourself in 5 years' time. What might some of the changes be to:
- Your physical health and emotional wellbeing?
- Your daily life and routines?
Some possible changes you might notice
Scientific research has shown that those who are a healthy weight are more likely to have:
- Better health. You could have more energy, improved mood, improved mobility, decreased joint pain and better sleep. You'll also lower your risk of health problems like type 2 diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.
- A feeling of confidence and being more able to do enjoyable things. It may inspire others too.

Imagine now that you haven't made changes to your lifestyle. Your weight has remained the same or increased. Think about yourself in 5 years' time. What might be different in:
- Your physical health and emotional wellbeing?

Some things to think about if your weight stays the same or increases
Scientific research shows those who remain overweight or obese are more likely to:
- Be at greater risk over time of long-term diseases such as type 2 diabetes, stroke, coronary heart disease and certain cancers.
- Feel more tired or notice more joint pain, which can make daily activities harder.
- Feel effects on your mood or mental wellbeing, including feelings of low energy or motivation
- Find you have less opportunities to do the things you enjoy if movement becomes more difficult.
- Influence the choices and habits of their children, family or friends, leading to similar health issues.
Once you've completed this activity, you might have a better sense of how making small changes could support your health and wellbeing in the future.
